A flower for Victor Noir

A story flashed through my mind when I came across this photo of Dita Von Teese kissing a statue, but nothing close to the real story behind this statue.
The photograph is by Christophe Mourthe. I found it on this cool French blog with a very long name – the blogger of which informed me of Victor Noir’s tomb and his female cult following!
Noir is buried in Père Lachaise, the Parisian graveyard where Jim Morrison and Oscar Wilde are also buried. Oscar and Jim seem to get a fair amount of posthumous attention as well… The stories those groundskeepers could tell. Juicey potential for a novel or screenplay.
